Protect the Creative Campaign
Mental Health Awareness Campaign for Creatives
A campaign designed to address burnout and mental well-being in the creative community through storytelling, visual identity, and intentional messaging.
Role: Strategy, Design
Scope: Branding, Positioning, Identity

Overview
Protect the Creative is a mental health awareness campaign created for artists and creatives. The project focuses on the relationship between creativity and well-being, addressing burnout, pressure, and the need for rest within a culture that often prioritizes constant output.

The Insight
Creatives are often driven by passion, but that same drive can lead to burnout. The pressure to constantly produce, improve, and stay relevant can make it difficult to step back, rest, and protect mental well-being.
The campaign is built on a simple truth, creativity requires care.

The Concept
The concept centers around reframing how creatives think about their work and themselves. Instead of pushing through burnout, the message encourages balance, rest, and awareness.
The campaign speaks directly to creatives in a way that feels real, not filtered or overly polished, using language and visuals that reflect their lived experience.

The System

The campaign was designed as a complete system, combining message, visual identity, and character-driven storytelling to create a cohesive experience across multiple touchpoints.
Kupert was developed specifically for this campaign as a central figure, acting as a relatable guide and visual anchor. The character helps translate complex ideas around burnout and mental health into something more human, accessible, and emotionally grounded.
The visual system reinforces the message through bold typography, textured backgrounds, and high-contrast elements, creating a look that feels raw, direct, and instantly recognizable.

Execution
The campaign was applied across multiple formats, including posters, public-facing media, and wearable merchandise. Each piece was designed to carry the message consistently while allowing the visuals and character to adapt across different environments.
The goal was to create something that lives beyond a single format, allowing the message to exist in everyday spaces where creatives interact.

Outcome
The result is a campaign that feels both personal and universal, addressing a topic that is often overlooked while remaining grounded in the realities of creative work.
The system allows the message to be experienced visually, emotionally, and physically, creating a stronger connection with the audience.
Impact
This project demonstrates the ability to combine strategy, storytelling, and visual execution into a cohesive campaign. It shows how design can be used not just to communicate, but to connect, resonate, and create meaningful conversations.
